Scandinavian interior style is often a lovely mix of classic and modern elements. I just love that. It always creates such an interesting atmosphere. This Swedish apartment represents this concept beautifully. The apartment itself has maintained much of the classic details that come with a turn-of-the-century home: intricate moldings, beautiful herringbone flooring, tall ceilings and large bright windows. In the living/dining room, you can see the modern sofa and dining chairs are contrasted with the classic dining table and the small antique bookcases. And a nice surprise with a modern lamp hanging from such an ornate light molding. I just love the beautiful touches of teal and gold throughout. It feels somewhat regal and modern at the same time. There are some wonderful black and white photos throughout which are used sparingly so as not overwhelm. What about that wallpaper in the children’s room? How unexpected in such a small room. How gorgeous is that?
