COSY AND COMPACT IN STOCKHOLM
Whenever I see a small space so beautifully designed I dream of downsizing. I just love the cozy, compact living that forces you to make strict editing decisions and gives rise to creativity with space.
This lovely Stockholm apartment showcases beautifully not only Scandinavian style but the Scandinavian's ability to get the most out of small living areas. With only 20 square meters of living space to work with, this apartment manages to provide room for all your daily needs without feeling crowded. There is even a small dining table that can double as a desk. The white walls and large windows open up the space. The gorgeous white oiled herringbone floors also lighten things up.
The gallery wall is picture perfect with a well-edited selection of photographs and prints that stand out but do not overwhelm the space. The monochrome colours of white and grey are softened by some of the natural elements that such as the textiles, lambskin and branches that make the space warmer.
The compact kitchen, with its classic square white tiles, is stocked with the essentials that are close at hand. I always seem to find myself drawn to that quintessential white tile that is also found in the washroom. It's classic without being pretentious. It's clean but not boring, and so easy to work with. I am also in love with that the charming and ample entryway which is painted a cozy charcoal colour that adds a bit of mood and warmth.
Well, I think I could live in a compact space like this that is so well styled and thought out. How about you? Does it make you want to downsize?
